Talking Sounders HOME

 Loudspeakers and Enclosures

Talking Sounders may be supplied built into a wide variety of loudspeakers or in small enclosures suitable for installation into control panels or other equipment, connected to separate speakers.

Speakers are available for installation inside buildings and in weatherproof versions for mounting outside or in adverse manufacturing environments. We have surface and panel mounting speakers as well as models for ceiling or recessed wall fixing.

Vandal-resistant and hazardous area speakers are also available for specific applications.

Multiple speaker configurations enable messages to be reproduced some distance from the electronics and provide additional flexibility of installation.

Typical sounders operate on 12-24vdc but higher voltages may be accommodated where necessary.

The illustrations below show typical low-cost combinations of speakers and electronics enclosure.

Mylar cone speaker in white abs plastic enclosure suitable

for visible surface mounting inside buildings including offices,

retail premises, warehouses and factories.

White plastic ceiling speaker for location as above. Waterproof

versions also suitable for kitchens and bathrooms and for

external use in gardens/decking and swimming pool applications.

Also available in black.

Black abs re-entrant horn speaker with metal “U” mounting bracket.

Suitable for enclosing the talking sounder electronics and encapsulation.

Weatherproof construction proven over many years in installations on

buildings and vehicles and subjected to salt spray.

Black abs plastic box for enclosing the talking sounder electronics

and encapsulation.

Up to 4 speakers may be run from a single talking sounder.

Whether it is a conveyor or assembly track about to start or a machine without a safety guard in place, the potential for accidents in industry are endless.

Whilst there is a clear need to warn personnel of hazards or impending danger, the plethora of conventional warning sounders and flashing lights often causes confusion and any delay in response can be fatal.

The use of a verbal warning system can ensure that the precise nature of a situation is instantly communicated and an appropriate response is generated immediately.

It really can mean the difference between life and death.

Requiring only a low voltage supply and a means of switching, the system is flexible for use on machinery, vehicles such as forklifts, automatic doors, overhead cranes and entry to hazardous areas.

Message triggering may be from a panic button, proximity sensor, industrial process or plant movement, to name but a few.

The wording of the message may be tailored to the exact nature of each application and the system is easily incorporated into control panels or used as stand-alone units.

Software control can also be used to determine the appropriate message for each situation and to respond differently to multiple trigger inputs with message queueing or priority levels tailored to each installation.

Warning messages may also be reproduced in multiple languages for the sake of safety as well as “political correctness”.
